Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

This page explains your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), and how to exercise the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.

FriendRex does not sell your personal information.

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share it with third parties for their own cross-context behavioral advertising. We also do not run ads inside FriendRex. The sub-processors listed on our Sub-Processor List process data only on our documented instructions and are contractually prohibited from using it for their own purposes.

Even though we do not sell or share, California law requires us to provide you with this dedicated link, to honor any opt-out signal you send, and to confirm your preference in writing if you ask. The controls below let you do exactly that.

Your opt-out preference

Global Privacy Control (GPC)

FriendRex automatically recognizes the Global Privacy Control signal sent by browsers and extensions that support it. When we detect a GPC signal from your browser, we treat it as a valid opt-out request under California law without any further action required from you.

If GPC is engaged we will display a "GPC signal detected" badge above and your status will read "Opted out (GPC)." You may still toggle the manual control above to confirm or override your preference; the most-recent signal wins.

Other ways to exercise your rights

• Email: privacy@friendrex.app with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share."
• In-app: Settings → Privacy & Security → "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information."
• Authorized agent: California residents may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on their behalf. We will require written proof of authorization.

We will respond to verifiable requests within 15 business days, as required by Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.135(a)(2). We will not require you to create an account, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.

What we do when you opt out

• We record your preference in our audit log (privacy_optouts/{uid} for signed-in users; cookie + localStorage for visitors).
• We treat any future hypothetical "sale" or "share" of your personal information as prohibited. Today, no such sale or share takes place.
• If we ever change our practices to begin sharing data with a new category of recipient, we will (a) notify you, (b) re-confirm your preference, and (c) honor your existing opt-out unless you affirmatively withdraw it.
