Welcome to FriendRex! By accessing or using our web application and services ("Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.
By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) and legally allowed to agree to these Terms. If you are between 13 and 17 years old, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate information, including your date of birth, during registration. You may not create accounts for anyone other than yourself or share your account credentials.
FriendRex includes social features such as posting reviews, ratings, lists, messages, and participating in polls. To ensure a safe community, strict adherence to the following is required:

You retain ownership of the content you post (including reviews, lists, ratings, videos, images, audio, captions, and reels, collectively "User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant FriendRex a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to host, store, cache, reproduce, publish, publicly display, publicly perform, communicate, distribute, modify, adapt, translate, create derivative works from, and otherwise use your User Content in connection with operating, providing, promoting, and improving the Services.
Without limiting the foregoing, you specifically acknowledge and agree that FriendRex may:
You may delete your User Content at any time through the in-app controls, which will terminate the license above for that User Content on a go-forward basis. Copies already downloaded or shared by other users, and copies retained in backup systems for a reasonable period, are not affected.
Video download controls. By default, other signed-in users may save a FriendRex-branded copy of videos you post. You can disable this at any time under Settings → Privacy & Security → "Allow others to save my videos." Turning this off prevents other users from initiating new downloads of your videos going forward but does not recall copies previously downloaded.
You represent and warrant that you own or have all necessary rights to grant the license above for every piece of User Content you post.
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on FriendRex infringes your copyright, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice to dmca@friendrex.app. Your notice must include: identification of the copyrighted work, identification of the infringing material, your contact information, and a statement of good faith belief. Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated.
FriendRex offers free and premium (Gold) subscription tiers. If you purchase a subscription:
FriendRex's Watch Party feature allows users to coordinate simultaneous viewing sessions and discuss content in real time. FriendRex does not provide, host, stream, or distribute any movie, television show, or other audiovisual content through the Watch Party feature.
Users are solely responsible for ensuring they have legitimate, authorized access to any content they view during a Watch Party. This includes having a valid subscription to the applicable streaming service, owning or renting the content through a licensed platform, or having other lawful authorization to access the content.
FriendRex is not responsible for the content users choose to view during Watch Parties, nor does FriendRex verify, endorse, or guarantee the legality of any content source. Users who access content through unauthorized means (including piracy, illegal streaming sites, or unauthorized screen sharing) do so at their own risk and in violation of these Terms of Service.
FriendRex reserves the right to suspend or terminate the accounts of users who are found to be using Watch Party features in connection with unauthorized or infringing content.
FriendRex uses third-party services including Firebase (Google), TMDB, AI providers, and Stripe. Movie and TV data is provided by TMDB. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for conduct that violates these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or is harmful to other users or our platform. You may delete your account at any time through Settings.
The Services are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated recommendations will be accurate.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FriendRex and its owners, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of California.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification or email. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance.
