FriendRex ("we," "us," or "our") uses local storage technologies and limited first-party cookies to operate and secure our application. We do not use tracking cookies on iOS or native devices, and we do not track you across other apps or websites for advertising purposes.

1. What Technologies Do We Use?

Rather than traditional tracking cookies, FriendRex primarily uses native local storage technologies on your device to manage your session and save preferences:

localStorage & IndexedDB: Secure storage built into your device's browser/webview. Used to keep you logged in, save local settings, and store your local AI conversations. This data stays on your device.
First-Party Cookies: Used on the web version solely for essential system operations (such as security tokens) and Stripe checkout processing.

2. Types of Local Storage & Cookies We Use

We only use local storage and cookies in two categories: Essential (required to operate the app) and First-Party Analytics (optional on the web version, entirely disabled in the native app):

3. Third-Party Service Integrations

FriendRex integrates with the following services which use local storage or cookies for specific, non-tracking operational purposes:

Firebase (Google): Firebase Auth uses IndexedDB to maintain secure sessions. Firebase Analytics (used only on the web version with your consent) measures app usage to help us fix bugs and improve features.
Stripe: Stripe sets essential secure session cookies to verify transactions, prevent card fraud, and process subscriptions. Stripe's policy is available at stripe.com/cookies.

4. How to Manage Your Choices

Because we do not use tracking cookies, there are no tracking choices to manage in the native app. However, you can manage your preferences on the web version:

In-App Settings

On the web version, you can opt in or out of Firebase Analytics measurement through the onboarding setup or by adjusting your preferences under your account settings. If you opt out, no analytics measurement occurs.

Browser Controls (Web Version)

If you access FriendRex through a web browser, you can block or clear cookies via your browser's settings. Note that disabling essential local storage/cookies will prevent you from signing in or checking out via Stripe.

5. Do Not Track (DNT)

We honor "Do Not Track" (DNT) browser headers. When a DNT signal is detected on the web version, we automatically disable all first-party analytics measurement.
