Our Commitment to Safety

At FriendRex, the safety and wellbeing of our users is our highest priority. We take a strict, age-appropriate approach to platform access and data protection. FriendRex is a 13+ platform with a minimum age requirement of 13 years old. No users under 13 are permitted to create or maintain an account on our platform. Because we block all users under 13 from accessing FriendRex, we have no COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) data collection concerns.

Age Requirements

FriendRex enforces the following age-based access policy:

Age Verification

We require all users to provide their date of birth at registration. Our age verification system operates as follows:

• Users Under 13: Registration is immediately blocked. No account data is stored or retained.
• Users 13-15: Enhanced privacy defaults are automatically applied to their account, including restricted messaging and limited feature access.
• Users 16+: Standard account features are enabled based on age tier.

Enhanced Protections for Teens (13-17)

Privacy

• Profile visibility is set to "Friends Only" by default—not visible to the public.
• Precise location data is never collected or shared.
• Teens are restricted from targeted advertising based on their behavior or interests.
• Direct messages are limited to approved friends only (for users 13-15).

Content & Moderation

• Enhanced content moderation filters are applied to all teen accounts.
• Teens are restricted from viewing explicit content.
• Automated systems monitor for harmful interactions and content.

Feature Restrictions

• Ages 13-15: No in-app purchases without parental consent, no tipping creators, no access to creator program, Rex features include enhanced filtering.
• Ages 16-17: In-app purchases are allowed, but creator program access requires reaching age 18+.

Parental Rights

Parents and guardians of users aged 13-17 have the right to:

• Review their child's account information and activity
• Request deletion of their child's data and account
• Restrict or disable specific features (messaging, purchases, analytics)
• Opt out of analytics and behavioral tracking
• Disable Rex or other interactive features

Information We Collect from Teens

We DO collect:

• Account information (username, email, date of birth)
• Content created and shared (posts, messages, media)
• Anonymized usage data (feature usage, session duration)

We DO NOT collect:

• Precise location data
• Phone contacts or address books
• Camera roll or photo library data
• Voice or audio recordings

Data Use: Teen data is never sold to third parties. We do not use teen user data for targeted advertising or behavioral profiling.

California Minors Additional Rights

Under California law, minors using FriendRex have the right to request removal of content they have posted. To submit a content removal request, contact support@friendrex.app.

Reporting Concerns

If you suspect a child is being exploited, harassed, or endangered on FriendRex, please report it immediately:

• Use the in-app reporting tools on any concerning content or user
• Email support@friendrex.app with details

FriendRex maintains a zero-tolerance policy for child exploitation, abuse, or grooming. All reports are investigated promptly. We are committed to cooperating with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement as required by law.

Future Compliance

FriendRex is committed to complying with evolving youth privacy laws, including:

• California AB 1043 (effective 2027): Restricts social media algorithms for minors
• Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA): Federal protections for minors online
